Malta

Lost in the middle of the Mediterranean, Malta and its islands have hosted many civilizations: Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Castilians, Knights of St John, French and English fighted for its possession.

Only Malta, Gozo and Comino are inhabited; Cominotto and Filfla have residents but not all year long.

Malta takes its name from “melitta” which means honey, it is the color of its stones. Their golden blond appearance drowning into the sea catches the eye and cannot leave the visitors indifferent.

The archipelago is washed by turquoise waters, the coast is still very wild.

Sometimes cliffs, sometimes inlets, its shore is a lee for sailors.

All the visitors are amazed by the historic richness of the towns, villages and festas that have been influenced by the East and the West.

You cannot visit Malta without mentioning the Knights of St John: at every corner of the streets, monuments make you remind of their passage.

Conquered by the joviality of its inhabitants and its beauty, you will return as Corto Maltese, a true sailor.
